Since it’s been Halloween. A scary priestess!
No updates for quite some time has probably sent this little piece of World of Warcraft bloggery into the oblivion of cyberspace. Especially since so many things have happened. But just like Garrosh Hellscream, I’m still alive. Just like Onyxia, I’m resurrect… uhm … Well.
So, I’m doing what Blizzard did once: A big retcon! Or a rather small one. Mostly changes to reflect the current state of affairs in my small family of alts. It’s a good thing Warlords of Draenor is coming. Otherwise the experiments would never end.
Real Life has kept me busy too, of course. Stuff that takes time and energy. It’s official. I’m translating the excellent, and rather iconic, Lone Wolf series by Joe Dever from english to swedish – Lone Wolf is getting a re-start for the scandinavian market, last time Lone Wolf was translated was around 1989. You can support the project through crowdfunding if you want – click here. Nifty little thing that, he he.
Days have grown darker … yes, it sounds more dramatic than need be. Winter is coming and all that. Energy levels for being creative has been somewhat reduced, meaning I kept the WoW blog on the back burner for a while. My brain need to realise it’s not always sunny nd once it understood this it stopped complaining. So – I’m having slightly higher levels of energy than before. I still, from time to time, feel like a rogue though; not enough energy. Autumn is a season that takes some work to get used to, even if it is my favourite period of the year.
Now then! The biggest news to hit the WoW community is of course Blizzcon – esspecially the announced next expnsion, Warlords of Draenor. I’ve followed the ongoing speculations beore Blizzcon with half an eye. Seen the “Dark Below” and the “Corgi’s Unleashed” and all that. The closer to Blizzcon we got, the more solid the Warlords of Draenor became – and what do we know? It’s the next chapter!
I … uhm … hmm. This might work. That was my first thought about the story hook. Really, Power Word:Remix says it better than me, though:
“The story isn’t bad at face-value (not enough is known about it yet to judge) but the premise takes a non-trivial amount of effort to explain: Garrosh gets sent back into time to stop the orc leaders from drinking the demon blood and instead forges them into the Iron Horde, which then builds the Dark Portal to invade Azeroth… but the Dark Portal is connected to present-day Azeroth. So essentially there’s an alternate-timeline, paradox-free set-up, but for a lot of people, it’s going to make them cross-eyed pretty fast.”
But oh boy what a beutiful expansion it is! My darling quirky draenei sisters are going home! They’re bringing an adopted human with them (unless we get draenei warlocks; I haven’t seen anything of more race-class combos of course so I don’t think it very likely).
Alas! Tragedy has struck the Exodar sisters! The “in character”- sisters that is. Their “Maker” did some changes in the rooster to allow for a slow but constant Horde escapade. The old shaman Creannah is no more. The old paladin Shuanna has been reduced to a banker alt (again). The young paladin Ashannah is still around as a placeholder (I like the name and keeping it for the time being) … and a new shaman has seen the day of light. Not to mention the priest. And the rogue.
Say hello to Vassannah. And Savenna. And Sharessa.
Their “bio” will be updated (and linked) eventually. Once I’ve decided on an enough quirky backstory. Meanwhile, I’ll keep the old ones around. The same goes for “the Story”, wich is in need of some serious retcon. How the dickins did I end up with a murder plot on Anduin, brain? That’s even worse than timey-wimey wobbly Warlords of Draenor-stuff.
Truth be told, Sharessa is hanging loose. I like rogues but I don’t like them enough to spend much time on them. They’re too squishy, there’s too many buttons. I’m sad to say that’s the case of monks as well, and hunters. But I’m keeping those around for proffessions, at least until Fortress Zavannah has been built on Draenor (yeah, garrisons, WoWs version of player housing, is coming; woohoo!).
“The Story” is about to be retconned as well. I have no idea how I ended up where I ended up with it, but it needs some serious cleaning. That’s for the future though.
So there you have it. To quote the ethereal boss from Violet Hold: “Back in business … ” I’ll keep this piece of blog more active than before, promise.
… and a scary warlock!*

*: Yeah, I’ve started the green fire quest … but then I sort of ran out of motivation. The pesky floting head … grrrr. Instead I farmed out the most warlocky tier ever (and a nice staff from Naxxramas).
